When I picked up a camera at the age of 14, I knew I wanted to create photographs. I’ve struggled for YEARS, because I’ve always been drawn to fashion and beauty photography, but living in northern Wisconsin most of my life, it’s quite a non-existent category. So I would shoot what I wanted and as often as I could, usually doing the hair/makeup and styling for all of it as well. I got a bachelors degree in fine arts/photography (still not the fashion & beauty work I wanted to be doing!), and eventually set aside photography to pursue an obtainable career. After working in retail, HR, and salon spa management, I went back to school and now hold my wi aestheticians license and own a lash studio (@ Vici Collective).
I’ve recently dug into my photography archives and shared some of my favorite moments, to remember where I started and the feeling I’d have when I’d get ‘the perfect shot’. Like so many of my peers in the beauty industry, you know that moment of pure excitement when you nailed the thing you love to do. I’ve come to terms with I’m always chasing that moment, and so much of it comes from photography.
I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be offering beauty/editorial photography, along with branding photography for beauty industry professionals. Hair stylists, lash artist, makeup artists, esthetician’s- you name it, I want to capture your artistry to share with the world.
